The roof and gutter replacement project is nearing completion. Of the three buildings that were remaining, two recently received new roofs and gutters. These two buildings were chosen based on the need for immediate attention, with a plan to complete the third and final building of the project in Spring 2015.
The concrete leveling and repair project has been completed. All tripping hazards on uneven sidewalks that were noted during the recent community walk-through have been fixed. In addition, the drainage areas for two driveways were completely torn out and replaced. These areas were determined to be in the worst condition compared to the rest of the community driveways, and required immediate attention. The board will continue to monitor these drainage areas, and authorize future repairs as needed.
Staff from Select Community Management will be walking around the community to verify that all concrete work has been completed. If you see any areas of concrete that still require immediate attention, please contact Select to report them.
The board has approved a plan to update the light poles around the guest parking area with LED fixtures. The hope is these new fixtures will not only last longer, but will provide the same amount of light with a much lower energy cost. The energy savings alone should offset the cost of replacing the fixtures within a few years.
The board is also investigating options for improving the lighting at the entrance of the community. The goal is to make the crosswalk safer for pedestrians and drivers, while also augmenting the security lighting. Several options for additional entrance lighting are being considered; more information about this project should be available soon.
