The board has started the process for repaving the central parking lot and also fixing the decaying concrete curbs around the same. We are using an engineering firm to coordinate this work, and to ensure that it is done properly to avoid issues such as the re-occurring pot hole. We are expecting a site review by the engineering firm to be complete within the next couple of weeks. Once that is complete, we hope to get to starting the curb work and then the paving would occur in 2024.
Several of the balconies around the community are in need of some repairs. We plan, over the next couple of years, to get to all of the balconies that need any work, but we are prioritizing those in most need of repair first. The first batch of repairs is expected to commence in Spring 2024.
The board will be conducting the Fall walk-through next Saturday (October 7) starting from the mailboxes at 9:00am. All who might wish to join are welcome.
Several areas of sidewalks, particularly in low-lying areas are prone to excessive puddling after rain. We have discussed the issue, and the sidewalks in those areas will be leveled to ensure proper drainage.
The time of year where estate and yard sales are common is fast approaching. Last year, there were some complaints regarding parking, traffic, and damage to grassy areas related to some sales. As the result, the board has adopted (pursuant to the by-laws, Article VI, Sections 4 & 9) some rules and regulations for holding estate and yard sales in the community. These rules will be posted HERE at the Forest Creek Website (see Documents page), and will also be distributed with the next newsletter to everyone. If you are considering holding such a sale, please review them. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the board.
The next board meeting will be on October 17 at 6:00pm over Zoom.
